Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, passed away on April 9th, 2021, and was laid to rest April 17th, 2021.
On the 17th April, 2021, members of Huddersfield and District Army Veterans Association held a parade in Greenhead Park to lay a wreath in remembrance of The Duke of Edinburgh.
The parade was held at the Association’s commemorative stone in Greenhead Park. After the wreath was laid, the Last Post sounded and the standard lowered at 15:00 to coincide with the time that the Duke was interned.
A veteran from each of the three services was on parade; Veteran K. Gillespie (Navy), Veteran D. Hardy MBE ( Army) and Veteran D. Power (RAF).
The wreath was laid by Veteran D. Woolley.
