119th Annual Outing, Tuesday 28th June 2016

Scarborough

After much deliberation, and at short notice, it was decided that this year's trip would be to Scarborough.

Once again we assembled at Huddersfield Bus Station for the inspection and heads to be counted before we boarded our coach and made our way to the Ham and Cheese Inn for a comfort stop and coffee.

Much to everyone's surprise our able scrounger was presented with two bottles of wine to be auctioned for our trip to Ypres.

Proceeding on our way we arrived at the Palm Court Hotel, South Cliffe, Scarborough, our headquarters for the day, where lunch was served.

After taking in the delights of Scarborough it was time to say farewell and make our way to the Pike Hills Golf Club for the excellent food expertly served. I am sure these two venues will be used again.

Arriving back in Huddersfield about 9:00 pm the Veterans had time to reach home before darkness descended.

48 Committee Members and Veterans attended.

Officers and Committee Members attending were: Major S. Armitage, Major J. Wakley, Captain T. Bradley, Canon S. Henry, Mr. S. Ashby, Mr. B. Spencer and Mr. C. Ford.

Mr C. Ford, Honorary Secretary
